CiV was asked by World Politics Review™ (WPR) to create a daily online foreign policy and national security publication.
In addition to developing the overall design and a compehensive custom editorial management system for managing the site content, CiV created a custom registration and discussions feature to encourage participation from WPR readers.
Other features include personalized email alerts when articles written by their favorite authors are published to the site or when a new article on a favorite issue is published. Additionally the home page management function automatically updates based on most recent published articles, but allows for an override in order to feature content for a longer period of time. The management system is designed to require minimal staff involvement to keep content updated and current.
For Version 2.0, CiV created an updated design to allow for an enhanced video and blog presence as well as support for advertising media. In addition, the site refresh provided readers with a more refined RSS offering -- allowing WPR users to select feeds for specific kinds of WPR content. The online journal's registration process was greatly simplified. To extend the syndication of the site content, WPR offers SpringWidgets to embed News and Commentary feeds.
CiV works in close partnership with World Politics Review™ -- providing strategic advice and ongoing site enhancements.
"Without CiV, World Politics Review would be nothing but an unrealized idea.
CiV not only provided the creative Web design and development services we needed to make our online journal a reality, but also helped us think strategically about our company's goals.
And as World Politics Review has grown, our relationship with Capital Idea Ventures has only grown stronger."
